How We Got Here

  • 1974 · Doors open on Andrews Ave Bobs News and Books unlocks a Downtown Fort Lauderdale neighborhood outpost for newspapers, paperback novels, and the era’s top underground zines.
  • 1981 · Culture takes shape We expand into adult media, underground comics, and collector imports, becoming the stop for locals.
  • 1987 · Lottery Wall launches Scratch-off central and Florida Lotto, keeping convenience front-and-center.
  • 2018 · Bitcoin ATM Cryptcurrency sees huge spike in demand. We bring a Bitcoin ATM onsite for your convenience.
  • 2025 · Online Store Launch Our online shop arrives alongside a refreshed blog highlighting writers, collectors, and South Florida events.

Still believes in the "My pleasure" approach to customer service. He knows every distributor by name and keeps the catalog humming across print, merch, and digital and retail.

From 7 AM to close they’re checking out customers, stocking books and other products, prepping pick-up orders, packaging orders for shipping, and swapping recommendations.

Open 365 days a year, 7 AM – 8 PM. We never stopped believing that a neighborhood shop could be the city’s most interesting room.
